Idaho’s mountainous landscape will serve as the breathtaking backdrop for every stop of the most progressive dairy management tour in the industry. Throughout the three-day tour, we’ll visit some of the most forward-thinking dairies in a US state that ranks in the top 5 for both total milk production and average dairy herd size.

THE LEARNING

Experience different management styles while touring a combination of open-lot and freestall housing systems. See a variety of milking parlor systems at work. Learn how reproductive programs implemented by the Alta team provide exceptional pregnancy rate results. Check out state-of-the-art feed centers and calf programs. See how focused genetic plans improve actual performance results at our host farms.

Each year, several Alta partner dairies in select regions of the United States open their farms to host this invitation-only event. We showcase the management practices in the areas of genetics, reproduction, feed and nutrition, parlor management and more on these forward-thinking, progressive dairy operations.
